What this project represents

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

« We found a responsive and committed partner, able to understand our industrial constraints and to rapidly deploy a high-performance installation.

Geothermal energy emerged as the most relevant solution for our future site: a local, reliable energy source, fully consistent with our environmental commitments. » ”

Jean-Yves Berthon

President, Greentech

Context

A pioneer in plant biotechnology, Greentech develops natural active ingredients in the heart of Auvergne’s volcanic basin, at the Biopôle Clermont-Limagne in Saint-Beauzire. Its new 9,000 m² building houses production, storage, laboratories and offices. For it, the company wanted a local, reliable energy source, consistent with its CSR (corporate social responsibility) strategy and its energy independence amid geopolitical uncertainty.

Key challenges

  • Meet the constant heating needs of an industrial fermentation process.
  • Limit reliance on fossil fuels from the design stage of the new site.
  • Strengthen energy independence in the face of market volatility.

Our work

Arverne designed and installed the probe field with particularly rapid execution. This was Arverne’s 100th shallow geothermal installation.

  • 24 vertical geothermal probes drilled to 200 m.
  • 1,200 metres drilled across 6 boreholes, in just 4 days.
  • Heat fed directly into the site’s industrial process.

Results

The new site relies on a local, continuous, low-carbon heat source at the heart of its process:

  • 1,200 m drilled across 6 boreholes in just 4 days: a fast-track deployment.
  • Renewable heat available around the clock for production.
  • Substantially reduced dependence on fossil fuels from commissioning.

Crédit Agricole Pyrénées Gascogne

At its headquarters site in Serres-Castet, CAPG is replacing its gas and wood-fired boilers with a system that produces heating and cooling from subsurface energy.

Galeries Lafayette

Damaged by fire in 2016, Pau’s department store will reopen at the end of 2027. A single geothermal installation will provide its heating, cooling and domestic hot water.

Safran Aircraft Engines

At Villaroche, Safran’s engine plant will replace the gas used at one of its largest production sites with local, low-carbon heat drawn from a depth of 1,650 m.
