Context

At Serres-Castet, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Crédit Agricole Pyrénées Gascogne is launching the decarbonization of its regional headquarters. The building, heated by gas and wood and cooled by chillers, was to switch to a local, renewable energy source capable of providing both heating and cooling.

Key challenges

  • Decarbonizing an office headquarters heated by gas and wood.
  • Providing both heating and cooling for the building from a single renewable energy source.
  • Carrying out the works while all staff remained on site.

Our work

Arverne designed and deployed a heating and cooling system powered by subsurface energy, sized to meet the site's needs.

  • 2 reversible water-to-water heat pumps, approximately 450 kW of installed capacity.
  • 25 vertical borehole heat exchangers, invisible at ground level.
  • Replacement of two gas boilers, one wood-fired boiler and two chillers.
  • Commissioning: end of 2026.

Beyond the Serres-Castet headquarters

Arverne and Crédit Agricole Pyrénées Gascogne Énergies Nouvelles (CAPGEN) are working together to offer shallow geothermal energy through third-party financing. You get geothermal heating and cooling for your building without covering the upfront investment.
