With Greentech, DrillHeat delivers its 100th shallow geothermal installation

With Greentech, DrillHeat, a subsidiary of Arverne, announces the completion of its 100th project.

Pau, March 24, 2026 – DrillHeat, an Arverne subsidiary and a leading player in shallow geothermal energy in France, announces the completion of its 100th installation, carried out near Clermont-Ferrand for Greentech, a pioneering company in plant-based biotechnology.

To meet the continuous thermal demands of its industrial processes, Greentech entrusted DrillHeat with the installation of 24 vertical geothermal probes, each 200 meters deep.
In total, 1,200 meters were drilled across six boreholes in just four days—an outstanding performance for this 100th installation.

This system will supply the site with local, continuous, low‑carbon heat, enabling Greentech to integrate renewable energy directly into its industrial operations while reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.

Located in the heart of the Auvergne volcanic basin, Greentech has adopted an energy strategy aligned with its CSR commitments and its ambition to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. The construction of its new 9,000‑square‑meter facility—combining production, storage, laboratories, and office space—fits within this approach and strengthens the company’s energy resilience in a context of geopolitical uncertainty.

« Geothermal energy emerged as the most relevant solution for our future site: a local, reliable resource fully aligned with our environmental commitments. With DrillHeat, we found a responsive and committed partner, capable of understanding our industrial constraints and rapidly deploying a high‑performance installation. This collaboration reinforces our choice and marks an important milestone toward a more autonomous and sustainable energy model.”
— Jean-Yves Berthon, President of Greentech

This 100th project confirms DrillHeat’s strong growth and its position as a reference in shallow geothermal energy in France—achieved in less than four years. The company deliver installations in a wide variety of environments and has met diverse needs across nursing homes, hypermarkets, museums, industrial sites, local authorities, swimming pools, office buildings, ..
Its teams operate on both decarbonization projects for existing and new constructions—under parking areas, in basements, in rural settings, business districts, and city centers.
Major organizations such as Eiffage, E.Leclerc, Galeries Lafayette, Icade, Idec, and Sisley have already entrusted DrillHeat with their geothermal drilling projects. ..

A subsidiary of Arverne, France’s leading provider of geothermal solutions, DrillHeat has drilled 130,000 meters of geothermal probes thanks to the country’s largest fleet of shallow‑geothermal drilling rigs.

« This 100th project reflects our ambition: delivering concrete, local, and long‑lasting solutions that advance decarbonization and energy sovereignty. With Greentech, we demonstrate how geothermal energy can be seamlessly integrated into an industrial process.
— Patrice Landolt, CEO of DrillHeat
