Devenez actionnaire de la géothermie

Arverne développe une dizaine de projets comme celui-ci partout en France. Une augmentation de capital est ouverte aux particuliers pour accélérer leur déploiement.

Context

In Frouard, north of Nancy, this hypermarket with 13,000 m² of retail space wanted to secure its energy costs and decarbonise its operations, without interrupting business or giving up its car park. It became France’s first hypermarket to meet its heating and cooling needs from the ground.

Key challenges

  • Reduce dependence on fossil fuels and secure energy costs over the long term. Decarbonise the site to meet French regulatory requirements for commercial buildings. Carry out the works without closing the store or shutting down the car park.
  • Decarbonizing the site to meet regulatory obligations for the tertiary sector.
  • Carrying out the works without closing the store or shutting off the car park in use.

Our work

Arverne installed the entire borehole field beneath the existing car park, leaving the site fully operational.

  • 53 geothermal boreholes drilled to a depth of 150 m.
  • A 3-month worksite, carried out under the car park while it remained in use.
  • A single loop provides heating in winter and cooling in summer.

Beyond the Frouard store

The project led to a national framework agreement between Arverne and E.Leclerc – a model that can now be replicated in other stores across France.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

Heating a 13,000 m² store is quite costly, so geothermal energy was a decisive choice

Geothermal energy has a stable cost, unlike gas or electricity. Apart from the cost of the installation, it costs us very little.”

Galeries Lafayette

Damaged by fire in 2016, Pau’s department store will reopen at the end of 2027. A single geothermal installation will provide its heating, cooling and domestic hot water.

Safran Aircraft Engines

At Villaroche, Safran’s engine plant will replace the gas used at one of its largest production sites with local, low-carbon heat drawn from a depth of 1,650 m.

Crédit Agricole Pyrénées Gascogne

At its headquarters site in Serres-Castet, CAPG is replacing its gas and wood-fired boilers with a system that produces heating and cooling from subsurface energy.
