Lithium de France has just been awarded the Alsace Excellence label, a highly demanding distinction supported by ADIRA (the Alsace Development Agency), which recognises exemplary initiatives that contribute to the attractiveness, dynamism and visibility of the region. This recognition highlights the strong commitment of the Lithium de France project, developed by Arverne.
The audit that led to this certification first emphasises the very essence of the Lithium de France project: the production of geothermal heat and lithium. By harnessing the naturally hot waters of the Alsatian subsurface, the project addresses a triple challenge—sovereignty, decarbonisation and reindustrialisation. It positions Northern Alsace as a pioneering region in the deployment of innovative, environmentally responsible energy solutions.
The Lithium de France project also stands out for the direct benefits it brings to the region. The large-scale investments made in Alsace reflect the project’s strong scientific and industrial ambition at local level. Job creation, local partnerships, and structured, ongoing territorial dialogue with local residents, elected officials, farmers, businesses and institutional stakeholders are also highlighted by the audit as key strengths, helping to secure the project’s long-term anchoring within the region.
Beyond these local contributions, the Lithium de France project actively enhances the international profile of Alsace through its innovative nature and its strategic role in renewable energy production and the European battery value chain. It positions the region as a driving force in the energy transition.
